BCR Greg Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 "You are bidding on a customized Hamer Explorer. This little rocker has been my "Number One" guitar for four years. I've put a lot of time and effort into making her sing and it kills me to let her go. However, I can't help feeling good about the idea that she'll be passed on to someone who will enjoy her tone as much as I have." The only time and effort was making a $300 Slammer into a $50 POS. OH!!!! Here's ANOTHER GENIUS!!!! "80's Hamer Slammer archtop made in Korea - not in Indonesia. Excellent guitar!!! I do what I do best - combine my art with my guitars. Complete Gold Leaf Front. Custom landing bird on the headstock (gold tin). Birds painted on the frets, first application of gold and then mother of pearl - sealed with polyurethane and does not affect the playability. Set neck! Look for Hamer guitar descriptions on the internet- it is an excellent built guitar. Vintage Seymour Duncans - 59 in the neck and a JB in the bridge (bobbins painted creme colored). Custom wiring - 1 volume, 1 tone, mini switch to split the bridge 3 ways, regular 3 way toggle switch for both pickups. Vintage Kahler tremolo installed and intonation has been calibrated (regular tremolo strat arm included). Feels and plays like butter." I just spread some butter on a bagel. I do not plan on spreading a guitar on a bagel. "Head piece broken off, slight scratches, appears to be missing a panel on the back, case damaged, probably used. As with all liquidation products this is sold 'as is' and what you see in the photo is what you are bidding on. "
tremolux Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 I'd like to put those in my burn barrel. sometimes looking at all the crap guitars at Guitar center makes me feel the same way I feel when I look at those. yuck.
Ethan Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 props to the first guy on the Poison the Well and Hot Water Music stickers!
discountsounds Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 "...probably used..." Ya think?!?!?!
lonechicken Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Props to the Mr. Sparkle sticker. A classic Simpsons episode.
kizanski Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Ok..."Plays like butter" I can let slide (even though it is one of the mosy hackneyed terms in all of guitar-ebaY-saledom), but "Feels like butter"??No thanks. That sounds kinda yucky.
Stike Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 "probably used" HA!That's like a news paper article I read recently about a country club I used to work at burning down, "The fire went undetected until it was detected.
silentman Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Well, it's POSSIBLE that the SS fell off of a display and really never had any playing time.
killerteddybear Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Exactly what does butter play like?? I wanna buy butter that tastes like Hamers...
matchful Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 What a shame with the Steve Stevens model! It looks like it once a nice guitar. As far as the others, I have no words.....
