Fender 70's set (pole pieces are level. ala 70's) Pulled from new guitar. $120. shp'd

Fender Custom Shop '54' set. Pole pieces are staggered. Pulled new from '54 reissue $110. shp'd.

Also have a set (new in box) of VVG (Vintage Vibe Guitars) hand made pups (Pete Bilthoft.) $100 shp'd.

as for new I have a set of FCS Texas specials, a set of Duncan SS-3's and a couple sets of Duncan STK-4's, probably more if I look in the bin, but I know those off the top of my head

MIM fenders are pure shite. US fenders are better.

Thanks for all the choices. 2 things to consider.

1- I'm not a strat player

2- I payed $50 for the guitar and was trying to keep it that way.

But the pickups in it make my fillings hurt.

Looks like the $70 set is my best choice so far. Murkat.

Otherwise, the slammer series strat is actually not bad.

I keep hearing good things about them, and their "clearance" section always seems to be full. I'd check them out if I needed something.

The GFS pickups (single coils) are really good value for the money. I preferred them over the stock SDs in my Daytona.

Dan -- I've got a SD twang banger bridge. Short leads that could be extended, but should be enough to get it wired. Yours free, if you want it.

Those are great prices on great pickups~

I have a US Vintage Reissue Fender 70's Stratocaster and love the pickups in them. They'd be my choice! Well.... on the other hand, I don't have any Vintage Vibe Strat pickups, but I love my Vintage Vibe Charlie Christian pickup... and the 54's are reall ynice as welll.... IMO you can't go wrong on any of the pickups in his post.
