mattb Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Here we have a MESA Boogie MKIII Simul Class Green Stripe. I've had this amp for about 2 years. Sounds great. I just replaced the tubes with a combo of JJ/Mullard RI. JJ's are 6l6 and pres. Mullards are EL34s. Also included are the 3 original footswitches. The amp is in great shape. It has a couple of slight stains on the grill cloth and a few rusty screws. I think the previous owner did some gigging with it. I love the amp but use my MKIV live so this doesn't get out much. I would like to trade for a nice acoustic, or perhaps another amp with a different flavor. Vintage Fenders, VOX, etc. I am also interested in Hamers, Fenders and Gibsons. Let me know what you have and maybe I'll bite. I will also take $850+ shipping for it. Shipping will probably be a bit expensive as this is not a light amp. Thanks for looking!
Jeff R Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Great amp. I'm loving my green stripe combo I got from gwayne a few months ago. Heavy as a car but incredible tones.
Scottcrud Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 I'd really consider buying this if it was a head.
Jeff R Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 I'd really consider buying this if it was a head.Scott, I'm running my EV-loaded combo with Cajun Boy's Celestion-loaded Thiele underneath, and it's got the low and punch of a halfstack with more than enough gigging volume, with half the footprint.

I ran this on top of a Bogner Cube. Tasty!

harry65 Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 interested, i,ve been looking at a nomad at my local guitar center and a dc-5, tone wise how does this compare, i'm primarily looking for high gain tones, aka, eric johnson, santana, i've heard great things about the mark series but have never played through one,i'm an old marshall guy and for the last 5 years been running my sans amp classic(only piece of gear i can't live without) into a crate tube amp i know it's hard to put tone into words but any help would be appreciated.
Scottcrud Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Harry,This amp will blow away a Nomad as well as the DC-5. I've owned a few MKIII's as well as a DC-10, I'd never own a Blomad, they suck imo.

LOL
Scottcrud Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 The DC series is a cool amp, I just think for the money, the MKIII is a better amp, build wise and tone wise.
