For a 95 3-hole Duotone...

Howdy folks.

I've got a 95 3-hole Duotone in 59 'burst. Same as the recent one, but with totally stock electronics.

Original case, but it's seen A LOT of gigs so it's got scars, and an Allman Bros sticker.

The guitar itself is near mint.

If you want, I'd send it to BCR Greg to have him do his famous switch-mod.

I paid $1100 plus tax at Toys From the Attic in White Plains NY about 7 years ago.

Asking $1100.

If you want the BCR mod, I'll pay to ship it straight to him

and you pay him for the mod and shipping to you.

Got some more questions via email and here's some answers:

As I stated in the first posting the guitar is near mint with absolutely original everything. It is a 3 hole 1995 Duotone in '59 Burst. The neck is Hamer Medium- not skinny, not a baseball bat. Playability is excellent with no uneven fretwear, and no need for any adjustment or setup. The Electric sounds are killer, and the Acoustic sound is unbelievable. I don't really need to move it right now, but I figured if there was some interest, I could let it go.

I am a full-time pro and a Hamer endorser. I played it on tons of gigs because of it's versatility, but have always taken great care of it. The 94 3-hole Duotone that was recently sold through the HFC Board by the famous BCR Greg had been modified from stock and went for $1000 plus tax and shipping.

Reasonable offers would be considered but as I've stated, I'd like to get what I put into it, which is $1100-

and I'll pay for shipping.

Thanks!

:)

Geoff

P.S. I don't have any photos taken right now, but if there's serious interest, I'll post some.

I have one of those necks. Medium but not small. really nice neck profile for those who do not like skinny. A little rounded, a little thick, comfortable.

I've been told that $1100 for this Duotone is an insult to humanity.

What would you pay for it?

The floor is open.

I paid 1000 for my custom here on the board from SirDan and considerably less for my 3-hole. I'm not sure but 700-800 range if I recall correctly. Both are great guitars. Just my opinion but I think you might be a couple hundred too high. I'd say throw it on the bay and see what happens. I am far from an expert, however.

First of all I bought a guitar from Geoff a few months ago. It was a smooth transaction. He was really easy to work with.

The Duotone Custom Doody showed above was mine and I sold it to Sir Dan. I bought it on the boards a couple years ago for $1,000. I don't think the price between the Custom and the 3 Holers are that great. Maybe $100. People seem to favor the 3 Holers here at the HFC for some reason. So my best guess for your guitar would be between $900 and $1,000. If I was in the market, that is the deal I would be pitching to you.

iirc, i paid $700 & $750 for these (before pickup swap & chrome hardware). both had a few dings but were in pretty good shape.

Okay. Thanks for the reference straightblues, by the way.

From what I can gather, it ranges from about $750 for examples with dings, dents, etc.

to $1000 or $1100 for examples in real good shape.

Again, this is in very-good-to-excellent shape.

Had some tire kickers so far. Any solid offers?

:)

Need cash. Or other guits? I've seen a LOT of 3 holes going for 750 -950. From what you say, your's is in exc. plus shape. Alot of the others have been, too. Keep your price and have patience. Some one will come along. HFC loves the hybrids!

Nah. I don't really need to move it.

I had posted to see what interest there was,

and I got a few inquiries etc. but no solid offers.

I'll keep that option open for a few days, and see what happens.

Can't help but show off my new pride and joy that was an absolute STEAL!! 663 out the door with case (non-Hmaer though). It's great when big music store chains have no idea what they have... one employee said.."That's interesting, never seen anything like that before, is it electric or acoustic?" He was a slaesman in the guitar dept!
