Lockbody Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 Linky Poo No relation to seller, blah de blah. If I didn't already have three dual-humbucker guitars (and was out of town soending money like it's going out of style) I wouldn't be posting this, btw! Less than 3.5hrs to go and waaaay cheap for how it looks in the pics.
BubbaVO Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 Not Good. I'm looking to sell the same type of guitar in the near future. I might have to get it just to pull it off the market.
MCChris Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 No relation to seller, blah de blah. Can I raise a practical question at this point? Why do people include this line when alerting others to a desirable auction or item for sale? Does anybody really give a shit whether the sounder of the alarm is related to or connected to the seller in any way?Without eBay, there would be no such nonsense, or significantly less of it. Therefore, I must say again:eBay sucks.

Baaaaaa. As to your second point, some of the more "regular" Hamers don't sell on here, or when they do it can sometimes be for a good bit less than on the open market (eBay).

Therefore, I must say again:eBay sucks. Most do it to say "heh, this looks cool, but I'm not connected with it, so do your homework. I'm not endorsing this sale, just letting you all know it exists". Warning/CYA thingee. You may have an ace to grind with ebay, but would suggest finding another whetstone. Seen this/have myself posted for lots of other sources besides ebay, such as the Gear Page, craigslist, Harmony-Central, and a bagfull of single-brand fan sites (other than HFC).

I think it's 'cause people don't want other people to think they are pimping for a seller and possibly making a buck. God forbid.

God forbid. And do people really do that? Pay others to pimp their crap on msg boards? I guess 10 bux is 10 bux (or whatever), but I think I'd rather go sell some plasma first.
BTMN Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Guess I need to go pawnshopping over across Tampa Bay a lil more.

I guess 10 bux is 10 bux (or whatever), but I think I'd rather go sell some plasma first. Not necassarily in that fashion, I just think that there is an underlying disdain (by some, not all, and I don't mean to implicate anyone in particular 'cause I have no idea) for those making/helping someone make a buck. That's how I read it and I've been guilty of that thinking in the past. I was wrong. Anyway, YMMV. Maybe I'm the only one who interprets it that way...
