DavidE Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Two Phantoms. A7: I think it all works. Finish is pretty trashed. Action is high. I haven't messed with it. More photos: http://s45.photobucket.com/albums/f61/deid...20Phantom%20A7/ Phantom A5: This one looks good, but the action is high and I can't figure out why I can't get the bridge lower. Scottcrud Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 David, what's the difference between a A-7 and a A-5?
DavidE Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 The A7 has a thinner neck and synth controller electronics (tested by Paults).
gatorbyte007 Posted September 3, 2007 Author Posted September 3, 2007 Nice projects for sure David, I just can't bond with the Phantoms.
Submariner85 Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 The action problem could be due to the nut if you've tried adjusting the neck and bridge. The other one, looks like you're missing something under the rear of the bridge to make it sit level.
serial Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 The pivot block screws look like they've been stripped and it's leaning forward a bit-it should be flush with the body and does NOT raise up. That is most likely causing the bridge to tip upwards.

That is most likely causing the bridge to tip upwards. Are those the screws in the block of metal that is next to the pickup ring? That could very well be the issue.I'll have to take that apart and take a look. If that's all it is, a couple of dowels, some glue and it might be good to go!

Four screws to hold the pivot block down. Since they're anchored in mahogany, they might be subject to pulling/stripping if there's too much tension or the trem springs are too tight.
