Citrus Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Just had a sale to a ( 0 ) feedback ebayer - forgot to make a note on the sale.He paid through paypal, I had the $$ transfered last night and will wait till I get the $$ in the bank.Is there any way I can get burned??
tomteriffic Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 The smart money uses a PayPal affiliated bank account that is typically empty. You move the money in there and then immediately move it to another, unrelated account. That way PayPal can't dip into your bank account or freeze it.
jisham Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 I've used PayPal as a buyer and seller for years without a problem.

To be truly safe, you need to transfer the money to an account PayPal can't get used to. I never do that though, probably because I've never had any eBay problems in the years I've been using it and because I usually only have a couple hundred bucks in the account that's linked to PayPal anyway. If they want to freeze it, it would only be a minor inconvenience for me.-Austin

If he's confirmed, there should be no problem. If he's unconfirmed, and there's a problem, it's YOUR fault for shipping to an unconfirmed address.

sirDaniel Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 it MUST be trackable. I'm assuming domestic. international is a whole new world.
Steve Haynie Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 The buyer can always claim there was a problem with the item or that it was not received and file a dispute. That means PayPal will yank the money back from you until the dispute is settled. Most people are honest on both ends, so that will likely not happen.
