anotherfreak Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 WOW!that is The best!good combo on all the options, that carved back is beautiful!
Guest pirateflynn Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Okay.Cosmetically, this guitar is stunning. It's one of the most beautiful guitars I have ever seen. The wood selection is off the cuff. The maple top has so much depth, it is really something to see and the mahogany is just as pretty. Don't get too close to the brazzy fingerboard and headstock veneer because it will suck you in!I was able to play for about a 1/2 hour and MAN this is everything I dreamt it would be. I little more fundamental than a stock maple Newport ..... kinda close to a ES335! I love it!
elduave Posted May 16, 2008 Author Posted May 16, 2008 And we love you. May you enjoy a long life together with it.
MCChris Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 AAAAHHGGGHH!!! My eyes!!!!!! Aw HELL no! That said, I think yours is now my favorite all-time custom order. Really incredible, man. Huge kudos to all involved.
Guest pirateflynn Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 I think yours is now my favorite all-time custom order. Really incredible, man. Huge kudos to all involved. The tone and playability are amazing. I'd put it up against any guitar of it's type ..... any.
burningyen Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 This should be a regular production model, no question. Very nice.
Kilroy is all about... Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Thanks Ken, you're a prince. *Waterloo is a joke. No disrespect towards mirrorimij* most righteous axe...its features are quite cool and shall render max benefit to both player and listener. does it rock? it looks bit jazzy to me, but humbuckers are rockers by nature. how's the neck pup...clear or muddy? nice fiddle....
Guest pirateflynn Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 It's a Monster! The pickups are very well balanced low out put PAF style (which I think are the best for this kind of axe). No mud. It's the biggest sounding guitar I have owned, thanks in part by the center block and tailpiece/ bridge relationship. I'd say it rocks hard but I'm sure there are better guitars for metal and beyond. It's versatile - jazz and blues players would dig it!Thanks!
HamStd Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Now that is definitely one sweet custom order. Hats off to Ken, Elduave and the gang at Hamer for making another amazing custom order. I am sure that guitar sounds as great as it looks. Love the wide ribbon flame and the veneer on the headstock!!!!!Might be time for the roadtrip down south, but I am scared you might put me to work on the drywall!!!!Congrats on the new Axe Ken!!!!! Dave you are the King of Cool Hamer custom orders!!!Peter
Guest pirateflynn Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Thanks Peter! I know how much you love the vintage gear so I'm glad you like this one. It is definately my 335!. If you make your way down here I promise it will be no work and all play!
HamStd Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 If you make your way down here I promise it will be no work and all play! Only if you wear that sexy Daisy rock tank top and the Rocketeria short shorts, I am so there you big stud muffin!!!! It is true, I am a bit prejudice to the older Hamer pieces, but can certainly appreciate the recent guitars that Jol and his crew have been shooting out of the factory. Definitely GREAT stuff and yours is one of the best!!!! Peter.
