currypowder Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Not mine, no affiliation.Saw this Gibson Spirit over at the Gear Page. Wrap around tailpiece and a very Sunburst looking guitar. I know it's not a Hamer, but I thought some of the members over here might be interested. I'm not sure if the price is right or not knowing nothing of these, but it sure seems to be alot of guitar for under $900.http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=413536
MCChris Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Weight is exactly 8.0lbs on my cheap bathroon scale.Go for it, DavidE!
kenjones Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Jerry Raney from The Beat Farmers used to play an Epiphone Spirit. It's the only guitar I ever saw him play - and I saw the Beat Farmers a bunch of times.
cornjulio Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 I have to admit it's the first time I hear of them but this one looks good!
bulletbob Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 I have to admit it's the first time I hear of them but this one looks good! Had one.. very harsh and cheap sounding.. Mine had an X2N pickup.. too hot,, no tone.. The body was made of Poplar NOT mahogany like other gibsons... They are low rent. IMHO.. bob

Sunburst finished examples feel particularly cheap and cheesey. They were cool and fun when they were cheap but they aren't anymore.90s Hamer Specials blow them away and are a far better value. Craig S Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 I don't think we are talking an Epiphone Spirit here but a Gibson, the Gibson I played a few years back was pretty nice.
