Steve Haynie Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Skid Row was a shining beacon compared to Smashing Pumpkins. If Skid Row killed off any of the heavier bands, Smashing Pumpkins killed off the bands that rocked!
BubbaVO Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 ... I have to say, it was guys like Sebastian, and bands like Skid Row that made me feel embarrassed to wear my hair long. +1
Hamer of the gods Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Sorry guys -- I'm 39 and a life-long hard rock metal head and musician -- and I have to say, it was guys like Sebastian, and bands like Skid Row that made me feel embarrassed to wear my hair long. Amen- Anyone watch the "Superband" (can't remember the real name!) show on VH1 with Bach, Nugent, Scott Ian, Evan Seinfeld and Jason Bonham? Bach was the biggest whiny baby, primadonna, poser dickhead I have ever seen, and I've been in bands with a few!
Brooks Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 ... I have to say, it was guys like Sebastian, and bands like Skid Row that made me feel embarrassed to wear my hair long. +1+2, also poison, ratt, dokken, greatwhitelionsnake, etc. but i do like 2 skid tunes, monkey biz & slave to the grind, i put 'em on my ipod.johnny sollinger is from denton texas,me & steve (bruiser brody) used to see his band sollinger, steve would yell insults at 'em.later our pal dave heineman played w/ 'em.dave also played w/ ex-pantera singer terry glaze, and sweet savage singer joey crabtree (untill cc deville stole joey for his band).
kurtsstuff Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 I loved and still love all the Dokken,Ratt, Skid Row,Warrant,Whitesnake ( not poison so much)And wore my hair long and proud in the 80's..played alot, got laid alotparty'd probably too much and just had a really good time and as I've said beforeI MISS THE 80'S!!!!!!!
Bass Guy Dave Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Entertaining thing I found on YouTube of Bach and Halford covering, "Delivering the goods" in the mid-90s. I still prefer Halford, but I'll give Bach credit for taking a good shot at a big song. I liked a couple of the early Skid Row songs...can't remember the names offhand. Best Wishes
guitarzandstuff Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 1) Dude can sing 2) He is/has a dick 3) I'd kill for this guitar tone: WOW, just watched a ton of old Skid Row vids... Did I say WOW? Scotti Hill and Dave Sabo have been two of my all time favorites as far as tone and kick ass style!! Kinda know where to put that one note that f*cks your head up!! SR has and always will be one of my favorite bands!! BTW- I got to open for Sabatian Bach years ago and personally, I don;t think he could have been any nicer to myself and my band! YMMV
