tomteriffic Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 Welp, I've been putting together a recording rig, and it's coming along nicely, but I've found a mike or two that are just the things I need for my (and my wife's) voice. The expense of the computer hardware and software has left me teporarily broke, so I need to move some stuff to get the mikes. Here goes: TOOOBS!!! 2 Mullard EL-34's These are labeled "Dynaco by Mullard" and are the XF1 revision 2 Mullard EL-34's, branded as GE EL-34/6CA7. XF2 revision, these were OEM in early Music Man amps. Mullard GZ-34 rectifier. EL-34's are SOLD! Thanks Paul! All of the above were in a Dynaco Hi-fi amp which hasn't been used more than 2 hours in the last 10 years. I wired the amp into the studio monitor path the other day and the output was strong, clean and great-sounding. Channel balance between the two pairs was excellent as was the soundstage they threw. Very quiet, too. I can't speak to any earlier history since I bought this amp 'very' used about 10 years ago, fixed it, and forgot about it. The GE's sound good in the Music Man too. I tried 'em just for grins in my old 210-65. The GZ 34 is the shiznit of rectifier tubes, they can last 30 years of constant heavy use. $200/pair for the EL-34's, $50 for the rectifier. Package deals are very possible ALSO: a pair of lightly used GE clear-top 5881's bought from Poe a while back. Never used since I got them. $50. AMP Mesa F50 head, listed here before. Gobs of clean headroom, burn channel gets into recto territory. Was Turbo Gerbil's before it was mine. Fabulous amp, just doesn't suit my playing style. $575 plus shipping PENDING Hamer Special I may have second thoughts about this one. '93 Diaperburst P-90 Special. Skinny neck, RWRP neck pickup, otherwise all stock. Some rivet worming and dings on the back, a ding or two eslewhere. Some moron screwed a butt-ugly metal pickguard onto the front. I took it off and filled the holes and drop filled them. Hamer HSC comes widdit. $400 plus shipping. SOLD! Thanks, Rick! Paypal OK +3%, I prefer to ship FedEx 2 day, but am flexible, particularly on the tubes. More pics on request but I have to take them, so be patient. I'm a certifiable pain in the butt to deal with. Ask BadgerDave, Brewmaster, TurboGerbil, stonge, etc. Edit to add: best email addy is: tomterifficATearthlinkDOTnet
