The Shark Posted November 7, 2008 Author Posted November 7, 2008 Great Strat. Trades welcome. Thanks.
IPlayLoud Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Great Strat. Trades welcome. Thanks.Nice Strat, The CS 60's IMO are the best sounding due to they are the only model with the CS-60 pick-ups. Which Fender doesn't sell aftermarket. So in essence the only way to purchase them is to buy a CS-60 Strat?
murkat Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 would love to have, but, I f=gotta move some stuff in order to get stuff.... im sick.......
The Shark Posted November 8, 2008 Author Posted November 8, 2008 Trades offered so far are great. None strike my fancy. No reasonable offer accepted. Thanks.
Armitage Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Curious question.... how does anyone know it's an Official Relic, instead of a simply often played guitar?
guitarzandstuff Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Curious question.... how does anyone know it's an Official Relic, instead of a simply often played guitar? Many signs including serial number, COA, markings on body and neck (unseen unless taken apart)
kizanski Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Curious question.... how does anyone know it's an Official Relic, instead of a simply often played guitar?Believe me, if Dave says it's a Relic, then it's a Relic.
Armitage Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Oh I don't doubt him what-so-ever, (and I don't want anyone to think that), I've just been curious since these came out what happens when they get sold...
The Shark Posted November 9, 2008 Author Posted November 9, 2008 I wondered the same thing, before I bought my first one! It's a good question because there were some rogue guys taking MIM and MIJ Strats and giving them the "Relic" treatment. They would sell 'em on eBay without the case candy and COA. Now, there are a few really good guys making "old" Strats. Some hold their value and some don't. I wouldn't buy a Fender one without all the stuff to authenticate it. Curiously, mine has that! Dave R. Oh I don't doubt him what-so-ever, (and I don't want anyone to think that), I've just been curious since these came out what happens when they get sold...
Armitage Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 I was wondering more along the lines of a used Custom Shop Strat someone abused vs a used Relic Custom Shop Strat, that someone paid a premium for and would expect more $$$ when he sold it.
kizanski Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 "Relics" are marked as such under the pickguard and on the neck heel. Also, the COA would say "Relic" on it.
The Shark Posted November 9, 2008 Author Posted November 9, 2008 "Relics" are marked as such under the pickguard and on the neck heel. Also, the COA would say "Relic" on it.You are correct, sir!
Sam Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 "Relics" are marked as such under the pickguard and on the neck heel. Also, the COA would say "Relic" on it.The COA is the key, as virtually all bodies (and neck heels) since the Time Machine series launched, are imprinted with the relic designation regardless of finish type.
The Shark Posted November 10, 2008 Author Posted November 10, 2008 It's hard to believe that this guitar won't go at $1,600. I think God intends that I keep it. This is my last post for it on this forum.DR
Armitage Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Don't blame the guitar or the forum. The economy has a lot of people spooked.
The Shark Posted November 10, 2008 Author Posted November 10, 2008 Guitar headed to Minnesota pending payment. Miracles never cease!
