atquinn Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Yes, well, after selling off my humbucker stash, it turns out I need some humbuckers (check the sig to see why). I'm looking for humbuckers in both positionsNeck: GOT ONE!Bridge: Something high output, double-black, and trem-spaced that isn't a duncan JB. I'm specifically looking for any sort of Duncan Custom (Custom, Custom Custom, Custom 5), but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks for looking.-Austin

Before I saw it in person, I was thinking about swapping it out for chrome, but the gold actually looks pretty cool with the finish, so I'll try to live with it I have a double cream Pearly Gates, neck position....need to go check. If he doesn't want it I do. You can have it. I'm going with a double-black in the bridge and that would look a bit strange with a double-cream in the neck -Austin

I have a zebra PG on the way courtesy of a guy on the Seymour Duncan forum. Goodbye '59N pickup! Now I just need something to replace the JB in the bridge. I'm going to replace the alnico 5 magnet in there with an alnico 8 magnet and that will improve things, but what I really want to do is try out a Custom 8 (Custom pickup with an alnico 8 magnet) in there as I hear thats the best frankenstein Duncan pickup you can make with an alnico 8 magnet. -Austin
