This really has some mileage, but so far pretty cheap.

Would it be worth messing with, or should someone just move on to something like this that is higher priced, but in much better condition?

And of course, neither has the OHSC.

I've seen Cruise basses sell on here for way less than the BIN of the one you linked above. Ask around here on the forum and I think you'll find one. That being said, #1 up above can probably be had for a cheap price and it does look pretty cool. The frets are probably worse than described, though. Good luck either way!

re the first one: do you like doing fixer upper, rehab work? If that's what you like to do go for it.Worst case you lose about a $175 and have a small pile of really nice mahogany firewood. If you are a skilled fixer-upper dude, you can have a nice Criuse exactly the way you want it. Pick your color, pick your hardware, etc.

re the second one: 32 jpegs??!! I did not know it was possible to post that many in an auction. It looks very nice. Buy-It-Now is a wee bit high. I'll bet the bidding does not get above $600.

Those early setneck basses are cool looking. Very comfy. Like most things Hamer, top-of-the-line workmanship, hardware, electronics, etc. Some people don't like the EMG pups. Everyone has their own opinion.

So the question is project or player & a few hundred less $$$ or no work needed & afew bucks more. You make the call. Think fast grasshopper, the auction for the beater ends this evening.
