sonic1974 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Geez, this is getting silly. How about $835 out the door?Wow, the market is tough right now. I can't believe this guitar is still here at that price.
gorch Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 You'd better keep it or raise the price. The latest 79er sell-off went pretty well.http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT
Bluesking Posted August 18, 2009 Author Posted August 18, 2009 I hate Ebay, so I'd rather sell it here.Bumpski.
Hamerica Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 This one of the guitars that came out of my collection that Scuba Market purchased. I can vouch the repair does not affect the tone or the stability of the guitar. The only reason I sold it was I have been thinning the collection lately. Blues King contacted be about the guitar prior to purchasing from Scuba Market. If your looking for a 70's Sunburst, or specifically a 79, this is a great deal. Look at this way where can you purchase a vintage Hamer Sunburst for less than a grand. The market sucks right now or this would have been gone a long time ago. Hamerica
Krank Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 That's two previous owners posting in this thread. I don't doubt its playability and construction, being a classic Hamer build. But how's the guitar's tone, if I may ask for a straightforward assessment?

I only sold it as I have been thinning the herd.Hamerica
Bluesking Posted August 23, 2009 Author Posted August 23, 2009 Perfect for rock and blues/rock - those original Dimarzios can really bring it.It's also got some great tone hidden in the middle position - I was able to get a cool Peter Green nasal honk with a little manipulation of the tone knob. You can't go wrong with this one!

I agree she is one of the best sounding sunburst I have heard & owned. The "big D" and the hard times (lawyer fees) that come with it has my heard down to 4 guitars. This is a fine player and actually had better tone than the other 79's I had. The repair work was done very well.
