Bluesking Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Howdy Hamerites - you might recognize this from Scubamarket's recent FS thread. I bought this from Bob and it was everything he said it was - what a great instrument. However, GAS has me in it's evil clutches - I've found something that I just can't pass up. So, since this is the most recent acquisition, it must be the first to go. Anyway, this 79 Sunburst is in great shape and has no issues. There's prevalent checking on the finish and a few dings/dents, but hey, it's 30 years old. There appears to be a heel repair - as evidenced by a slightly darker finish around the heel area. Bob's guess was that is was quite a while ago - either way, it was done so well, you'd never know it. It's solid as a rock and not an issue. I never would have noticed it if Bob hadn't pointed it out. Comes with a non-original Hamer HSC. Price is now $875 shipped to your door. I prefer a USPS MO, but Paypal works if we split the fee I've done several deals here and the Gear Page, as well as Ebay (username = Bluesking89 - 177 perfect feedbacks). Almost forgot - no trades. Thanks for looking!
ScubaMarket Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 BumpskiThis is a sweet player guys. Bump for a great HFCER and a great guitar.

landon w Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Pics are linked in the original post. BTW, this is for a Sunburst, not a Vector. Sorry didnt mean to cause any confusion, but on the link I saw that you said that there was a Vector you'd be selling shortly after this one, and I was trying to get you to jump ahead a bit and I think I just got a little mixed up reading the post from the link, again, I appologize Been looking for a Vector, and I got excited
cmatthes Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 '79s are apparently the Sunbursts to buy, if you can! That one looks great.
Bluesking Posted July 26, 2009 Author Posted July 26, 2009 79 was a great year for Sunbursts - this one is no exception.I played it this morning and honestly, I'm thinking about keeping it.
Bluesking Posted July 26, 2009 Author Posted July 26, 2009 UK shipping would be actual cost via the carrier of your choice.
flattop Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 What about USPS with insurance to $650 max i think?
Bluesking Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 I might consider a USA Strat or Tele if the right one came along.
Bluesking Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 Finally - proper pics added to original post.
Pieman Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Can you tell us what you mean by the "heel repair"? Thanks
Bluesking Posted August 11, 2009 Author Posted August 11, 2009 The only evidence I can see of any type of heel repair is the darker overspray around the neck heel area.Usually this is indicative of some type of repair work, but I can't confirm it.I only mention it in the interest of full disclosure. If a repair is done right (whether its a neck or heel), it's almost always stronger than it was originally.I have absolute confidence in the integrity of this instrument - it has absolutely no issues.ScubaMarket used to own this - send him a PM and he'll give you an objective, third-party assessment. The bottom line is that this thing plays and feels fantastic.
