FS: 2003 Fender Custom Shop Relic 1960 Strat

Up for sale is a 2003 Fender Relic 1960 Strat in Daphne Blue. The guitar is stock with the exception of the neck. The neck on the guitar now is a Fender Hot Rod American 62 Reissue Strat Neck. I swapped it because I preffered the hot rod's larger profile and flatter radius (12".) THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE ORIGINAL NECK! The original neck has a vintage radius and 6105 frets, and a small profile with no fretwear and no issues and is also included. The pickups are stock custom shop 60's pickups and sound great. The pictures don't capture how authentic the wear on the body looks, lots of checking, the pickguard wear and discoloration is very authenic as well. Weight is 7.5 lbs. accoring to the bathroom scale. The guitar came with the pin-up sticker, I guess you could remove it, but why would you, it looks cool! Also included are the OHSC and the COA. I'm asking $2100 for the guitar with both necks shipped in the CONUS and $1800 for the gutar with the hot rod neck only. These prices do not include payal.

Not really, the guitar plays really well with this neck, just had it set up and the nut recut.

Thanks for the interest though.

I love that guitar, but I don't love that sticker; at least not on a custom shop $$ instrument. IMHO, that is really limiting the interest. I would need real convincing that it would come off cleanly.

Are you interested if I take the sticker off or is this just advice???

I can't imagine it would be any issue to remove the decal (it is a decal, right?). Those tend to come off very cleanly and not leave any residue. If it is a sticker, probably hasn't been on there long enough to cause any discoloration underneath.

Wish I was in the market for another Strat - it's a great looking one!

Forget everything I've ever said about Strats and not really getting on with them !

- I've had a flashback, and remembered that a Sonic/Daphne Blue early 60's Strat with a Rosewood neck flicks all of my switches.

That looks fabulous to me - (and I even like the sticker!) - reminds me of Jimmy Vaughn's old battered white Strat that he played on an old documentary that was on years ago - Curves, Contours and Body Horns.

Gorgeous!
