acb Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 this aged White 81 Special has been owned/played by several of our finest forum members. it has one hell of a monster sound. the condition is best described as very good for a guitar nearly 30 years old. medium neck, frets have plenty of life remaining. no breaks, some dings, blemishes as you would expect. i believe this guitar is virtually stock - hamer/dimarzio pups, original pots. very cool hairline checking in the paint coat below the clean finish coat, no buckle rash. tkl padded gig bag. $750 + shipping. no trades please. contact via pm. thanks for looking :-)
cornjulio Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Very nice....I think I've seen that before....I'm thinking....
Aceldama Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Links asking me for a password... Is that the original finish?
acb Posted October 29, 2009 Author Posted October 29, 2009 this "aged" white is the original finish. i bought this a few years ago from the mighty kizanski stables. scooter also molested this beauty (among others). yes, this player has been around the block a few times. and with good reason. plays like a monster. here are photos from different angles, indoor/outdoor light. i've tried to capture all of the nicks/dings.

Feynman Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 I'm warning you people. Stimulate the HFC economy.
acb Posted November 6, 2009 Author Posted November 6, 2009 here's a picture of a hamer-endorser jamming on a white special. the classic johnny ramone print advert would be too obvious... from the Jol Dantzig Facebook photo archive: Kiss manager Bill Aucoin had an upstart band called The Fine Malibus and he brought their guitarist to Hamer based upon their work with Kiss. Suitably impressed, Dantzig signed up the young Steve Stevens.
JohnnyThunders Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Normally I would be all over a white special but times change and I'm no longer in the market. Nothing beats a sustainblock special in my book. Good luck on your sale.
