serial Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Early 90s Paul Reed Smith Harmonic Generator head (70w). Very cool amp, and extremely rare (only 250 heads and combos total were made). Great clean channel tones (more overtones than most amps can get), lead channel isn't bad and can be played at bedroom levels and still sound good. Red white and blue backlit face looks extremely cool too. Rarely see these for sale (four digit Standards pop up more often). Last one sold on eBay for $700 two or three months back.I'll entertain reasonable offers or trades for gear. No need for pedals and prefer non-Hamer stuff, since I'm looking for different territory to cover. No pics yet, but I'll try to get some tonight.Great match for yer PRS.
cmatthes Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Lord knows, I love mine!(Me misquoting Terrible Ted re: HIS PRS)I love my PRS 1/2 stack. The heads are really versatile and pretty damned cool all around. I don't need another one, but if'n I did, I'd snag this 'un. They also look bitchin' on a dark stage...
Kilroy is all about... Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Serial is a righteous dude for deals. Sorry, i'm a boo'tek tuber amp geek, but those PRSs are the b est for solid state features! kilroy posts. p.s. survis and i are exchanging phone-tags!! cool, thanks for the hookup
HAMERMAN Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 First Peter SELLS a lot of Hamers and now Steve doesn't want Hamer stuff in trade. What's going on around here? Did Gibson buy Hamer or something? :-)I sure hope this affliction hits Mike Lee, Jason and anybody else with some cool Lefty Hamers. Peter - I'm waiting for that EE firebird to go on the block! How about a trade for Vector KK? :-)
serial Posted July 27, 2005 Author Posted July 27, 2005 Well, unless someone wants to swap me an FB or an old four digit... I'm "consolidating" a little and have been getting rid of stuff that I don't play enough. I'm set in the four string dept and really the only things I'm jonesing for that I haven't covered are LPs, some Fender stuff and the like. Most of the Hamer stuff in the range of this head likely has a Floyd Rose and I don't play those much anymore (unless it was an FB, of course!).
HamStd Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Hey Steve: "They" caught us trying to do a Martha Stewart/Enron here..... The PRS harmonic generator heads are very versatile amps although they are solid state. That being said, because they are solid state, they are Tanks when it comes to wear and tear. Good amps if you are looking for something sonically different. Here you go Steve, early 4 digit with a floyd. Peter.
cmatthes Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Hamerman - did he mention that it is a rare "Lefty" PRS head?
HAMERMAN Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 >Hamerman - did he mention that it is a rare "Lefty" PRS head?Oh crap - why didn't he say so!One SS amp (Trademark 60) in the collection is enough for me. I would however like to see what the GG-70 looks like in a dark room just because the RWB backlighting sound neat.
