duaneallen Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 I have a nice T-51 that I'm going to have to unload and I am starting to put out the feelers to drum up some interest. I am out of town right now and won't be able to put up any pics for a couple of days. It is a transparent butterscotch blonde finish that is over an ash body. Neck and fretboard are maple. The guitar is a player, but sounds and plays great. The pickups have been changed to Rio Grandes, which sound fantastic. There are are few minor dings around the body, the bridge had some tarnishing and the fretboard has some wear spots. The frets were crowned a few years ago, but they are in decent shape with no buzzing anywhere. I figure that this is worth between $500-600. Anyone interested, let me know. I'll get some pics up when I get home. thanks.SOLD!!
esquared Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 I would like to see some pics. I am looking for a few different pieces and will be shaking up my collection.
duaneallen Posted December 29, 2009 Author Posted December 29, 2009 Back in town and can send pics to those who are interested. Here's the link to my photobucket page with pics. Sorry, but I don't know how to upload them here. http://s123.photobucket.com/albums/o282/du...n/Hamer%20T-51/
GaryT Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 I like the way this one looks. The wear looks authentic on the board and body. How much does it weigh?
harry65 Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 looks like my old one i sold last year................
duaneallen Posted December 30, 2009 Author Posted December 30, 2009 I believe that this weighs 7.5 pounds? I can check again. The wear is all for real, no relicing here. The guitar is a great playing and sounding guitar, its just got a lot of miles on it.
Always Broke Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 What kind of Rio Grandes are they? How does the guitar sound with them on (and through what amp, for that matter)?
iownit4 Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I owed this tele for about 6 years ,and gigged with it about 3 times a week !! the best playing tele I ever had !! the wear is real I bought it og another local musician in NYC who gigged alot also .I'm thinking of buying it back !! lol but as long as it stays in the HFC family is good enough ! here are some more picks
mr.matt1972 Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Do you have any interest in a trade? I have a Gibson Blueshawk available.
duaneallen Posted January 2, 2010 Author Posted January 2, 2010 sorry, no trades at this time. Thanks for the bump Iownit. I'm not sure the model numbers on the Rios but they are the vintage set. They sound like great classic Tele pickups.
duaneallen Posted January 3, 2010 Author Posted January 3, 2010 Bump. The price on this one is $550 shipped. Great price for a classic Hamer.
specialk Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Great price on the best made Tele out there! What year is it? Medium neck? Chunky? Thin?
Always Broke Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 What's the finish like on those Fender-style Hamers? Hard and shiny or soft and matte? I just can't tell from the pictures and this color. How much wear is on the crowned frets now?
duaneallen Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 The neck is a 60s slim neck. Not pencil thin like many of the Hamers of this era. The finish is shiny, not matte. The frets are in decent shape, they have plenty of life in them.
cmatthes Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Wow - great deal! Who is the lucky (new) owner?
