zenmindbeginner Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 It's really a killer set of tones. The acoustic sounds great and the guitar tones are nice and phat. The snare has too much low end to it and the volume could be lowered a bit to balance the kit. The drums could also have a tick more high end to them, but I am not complaining, they sound good. I loved you first test and this is even better!

backinit Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 I would like to commend your guitar tones as well. I'm not listening through the greatest speakers (Altec Lansing sub/sat) but the drum kit sounds slightly off. I think with a mixer it would be scary good.
BubbaVO Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I'm playing this on a Macbook Air with a sole speaker under a keyboard and an iSkin keyboard protector. Sounded pretty darn good to me.

Sounded pretty darn good to me.Thank you! People on a music production forum tell me the drums are a bit weak. Suggestions - how/where to EQ or otherwise make them stand out - are welcome.
Krank Posted December 31, 2010 Author Posted December 31, 2010 Thanks! Here's the newest version:http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/3/13/881193/1jan2104.mp3Happy New Years!
burningyen Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Sounds great to me. But is there a bass track? I think I hear one whispering in the background, but it could be my imagination. If there is one, it needs to come way up.

If there is one, it needs to come way up.Thanks. There's actually a whole lot of bass, but I guess not with distinct enough attack. This better: http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/3/13/881193//5jan1827.mp3?
burningyen Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 It's a little better, but something tells me you may be emphasizing the wrong frequencies and not carving out space in the guitar and drum tracks to let the bass track pop out. Check out this advice:http://bobbyowsinski.blogspot.com/2010/12/...bass-blend.html

Check out this advice:http://bobbyowsinski.blogspot.com/2010/12/...bass-blend.htmlThanks. I'll see what I can do - in fact just ordered the mixing book by Owsinski. Anything else I could do to the mix? Are the levels right?
burningyen Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Everything else sounds cool to me. A lot will depend on the vocals.
