rockfish Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 What does everyone think of this band ???I'm EXTREMELY happy with this album. Each and every song rocks, in my opinion. The singer has some of the best pipes I've heard in a long, long time, and I think the guitar playing is quite exceptional too. I get the feeling that after the bashing he received in Creed, he wanted to prove to some folks that he CAN play guitar, and he definitely has done that. I'm very impressed.I'm sure there are some folks that will think it sucks, but I'm not one of them.rockfish
Michael_ Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 I've heard several of the songs, and they are pretty good for radio friendly rock. Tremonti can play, period.
Jeff R Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 I really enjoy the disc too. Creed 2.0 is a much better version lol
DaxT1138 Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 i think i'm one of the only people in the world that actually liked creed
JLester Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 I like the music, but not the vocalist. His voice just doesn't suit me.Jason
Stike Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 If they had REALLY wanted to get attention and rock the MFn' house they'da got Jerry Lee Lewis.
budman2k Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 i think i'm one of the only people in the world that actually liked creed Make it two of us. Weathered was completely under rated IMHO
serial Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 I actually liked Tremonti's playing. I hated Stapp in a "hesafuckloadmoreofanassholethaneddievedderevenbecame" way. Talk about a self-obsessed mofo. Tell me that guy didn't spend YEARS in front of a mirror working on every facial expression. That being said, Tremonti sounded unique enough and different than the rest of the downtunerprsrectumfriers out there.
atquinn Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 I've heard a couple Alter Bridge songs on the radio. Tremonti can still write killer riffs (not necessarily entire songs tho'), the singer is light years ahead of Stapp (at times, he even sounds a bit Chris Cornell-ish, which is a good thing as far as I'm concerned), and I think the lyrics are better than Creed. I think it's cool that Tremonti solos on the Alter Bridge stuff (at least the two songs I've heard), but I don't think he's a particularly good soloist. He's good technically, but his solos sound completely composed and they just seem to be missing a little something. Still, from what I know about him, he is absolutely dedicated to guitar, and seems like a cool guy, so I won't have any problem if Alter Bridge stick around at least as long as Creed did.-Austin
Stike Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 I'm tellin ya, they'd sell a shitload with Jerry Lee frontin'.
Guest JackButler Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 I dig Alterbridge...I dug some of the Creed stuff as well...I had to learn a couple of those tunes for our TV tapings. I had heard that on the last Creed album, Mark had recorded a tune with a huge solo...only to find later when he got his copy..the solo had been deleted and this had become one of the numerous sore spots for him.I do know that Mark had gotten some intense private lessons from a couple of guys...Mike Angelo, Troy Stetina, and another guy in Florida.
tobereeno Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 I dig them lots, the track Metallingus in particular. I haven't heard a song that good in a long time.
