Brooks Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 posted this before the big board crash, thought some of you might have missed it. my trombonist buddy is learning bass, so i pointed him towards slammers. he bought a fretted one, but his super quirky trombone pitch was bugging him (he thought it wasn't intonating right). so he bought a 2nd and yanked the frets then added wood filler (ala stikes job on my doubleneck). i suggested the headstock logo modification, ha.
serial Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 No, but it sure as hell gets the "brown sound", I'll bet.
Hackubus Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 That's gonna hurt. My old bass playin buddy was an ex trombonist. Charlie the Pigeon-toed bass man. Never stand by this guy at a gig. He'd squish ya with his lack of balance.
JohnnyB Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Bass tuning pegs have never looked so large. So THAT's the real reason behind the Steinberger design. And Finger-Ease, too.
bobbymack Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Didn't that bass formerly belong to Richard Dent of the Chicago Bears?
Guerrilla Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 No, but it sure as hell gets the "brown sound", I'll bet. damn, should have saw that one coming when i read the first post.
El Kabong Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 You could feel it coming, but never see it...
