Interesting Special(?) on Ebay

Maple topped special? Sunburst re-issue? I don't know, but it's pretty nifty.

Recent custom order. I don't mind binding on carved tops, but I'm sure it would kill my arm on a flat-top. Just as well, since that's definitely outside my price range anyway!

Actually, that is one of my dream guitars. Well its short a Sustainblock but i've been looking for a Sunburst with P90's for a long time and thats as close as I'd probly get. Cool Guitar for sure.

I've got a question about the tuners--they're Schaller made but look very similar to Grover Rotomatics, and this isn't the only Hamer I've seen them on. Are they something relatively newly introduced?

My Special has Grovers on it and I believe the tuners on the Newports are Grover-like (in fact, I think they started with Grovers?).

I don't see the Salmon Blush in the burst, but still, that's a pretty Hamer.

That's a cool one. It's the second ( and last ) "ExtraSpecial" we ordered for store stock. The color was a Dark Cherry to salmon blush burst (paint to sample) on an ultimate quilt top. At the time we where really into vintage Jr's and specials and thought it would be cool to do a couple over the top Hamer specials, hence the "extra special" This is a great guitar and went to a good collector/friend of the shop. And yes even we freaked out when that one showed up at over 5k list!!!

The other "Extra Special" ( 1st one) is killer too, Black to grey burst on ultimate top. now owned by an hfc'r
