Question

I have an opportunity to get a red/silver at a very good price and I think it might be fine for what I'm after (classic to heavy rock - mid to heavy gain) however I'm not ably to find out much info. Good pick up?

Yup, real good pups. I have a love hate with single coils. Especially the bridge pup. The sensors eliminate the hate and a red in the bridge is great for the more aggressive tones. Don't know why Fender stopped installing them. They make enough models that you would think they could keep one with lace sensors.

Never seen that before. Only in Strats. I have no clue how they would sound but it may look odd on a LP.

I've had the silver and reds b4 but only in singles. The combo should rock. I thought the red by itself was good. I always wanted to try a red-red. I believe the LS humbuckers can be taken apart and other colors substituted.

I own a Strat Plus w/3 gold Lace sensors. Sounds killer thru any amp. My fav setup is that guitar thru my Matchless Clubman. Studio tech said it was the cleanest, clearest, warmest sound he'd heard in a long time.

Of course ya gotta take that with a grain of salt. He has tinnitus really, really bad & sniffs paint fumes at his daytime job. ;)

I love the blue. Red is Hot and the Silver will definetly get you that pure strat tone. Let us know how this turns out. This pup really jump out at me for using it in a Prototype or a Phantom. Really could add to the tonal range.

I have a gold /gold on an old Jeff Beck strat which is very versatile, some folks say they sound sterile, and where designed for eighties style rack systems, but I'm not one of them.
