Punkavenger Posted February 23, 2010 Author Posted February 23, 2010 "Queen of the night" 20x40 acrylic on wood 1/2 price $400
zenmindbeginner Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Really nice artwork man! I don't think that the photographs are showing just how well done these pieces are, they are really nice. Unless you are just hard up for cash and have to sell these... why don't you just keep the original and sell the prints? Properly photographed, these acrylic paintings would look AMAZING as prints. You could even blow them up a bit, but they do look plenty large on their own. Your prints would sell like hotcakes and could be sold on the 'bay quite effortlessly.Your paintings are killer.
BlueRedWhite Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Punk: is beautiful! Love the Queen! You're one hell of a talented painter. Thanks for sharing
GaryT Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Your paintings are killer. Thats a Best Description I heard yet.

zenmindbeginner Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I'm thinking about this idea ... it is good, it is! do you know a good source/someplace on the internet that specializes in this sort of thing?Well, the thing with prints is that the artwork really has to be appealing and well done, you've got that taken care of already. So, it basically comes down to having a properly exposed digital photograph made with no distortions or glare. You will probably need to take two separate pictures and them seam them together in photoshop. That way, you can keep the resolution super high and won't have to get the entire picture in one shot. It would be just like photographing and stitching together a panorama... you will just be working vertically rather than horizontally. At the very least... get these photographed before you sell the original, that way you can sell the prints and the original making much more bank.I scan all of my portraits and don't usually work in anything larger than 11 x 14, but I know of a photographer that shoots paintings all of the time. The only thing that is a bitch is the lighting... you will need to set up a little shoot area and experiment with different combinations of light. The use of a flash will require even more experimentation. If you know of a photographer who knows how to use a light meter and read a histogram, then enlist their services with all of the charm that you've got. If you can get proper photos done, I would be happy to stitch them together in photoshop for you, it'd be my pleasure, just PM me.But by all means, sell these bad boys and just do some more with keeping in mind the whole print idea for the future.I'd buy them from ya in a heartbeat if I wasn't a starving artist myself (although I look about as starved as a smiling Buddha! lol!)
