cheap duotone on ebay

This one's been listed several times... and generally passed over because it was a pawn find with a mysterious bridge break.

Where's the last thread on this one?

This one is a re-listing. No one's jumping on it for this price.

Hi, all:

It's been some time since I've posted on this board!

Anyway, I'm the guy who jumped on this Duotone. It seems fine to me, outside of those rosewood or whatever blocks that are missing from the ends of the bridge. No mysterious break in the bridge, just a few dings here and there, but it is a 16 YO guitar. Nice shallow neck as well. Fret wear (minimal) is limited to the first three frets, but I don't mind that because this tells me this guitar has been played, which is a good sign in my mind. Not a bad deal at all, and I have quite a few old Hamers.

Cheers,

Jim

Right on!

Kudos on a good deal. I'm curious about that bridge... does it appear to have been broken or replaced or "modified"...? And does it stand head to head with other 3-holers, acoustic and electric?

Here's a few photos of my Duotone, assuming they attached properly. Sorry if the photo quality isn't great - I have a pretty old camera.

I'm not sure about any bridge crack, but you can look for yourselves. There is a lot of grunge in the grooves between the saddles. The rosewood (?) bridge itself looks fine. not a replacement that I can tell. As for sound comparisons, I don't have another Duotone, and no one I know personally has one. The closest I have, I suppose, is my Newport, but that's not a fair comparison, really. Any other Hamer I have is a solidbody. I have a Special FM with the same pups, but still a different animal. Sounds and feels really nice, though.

Cheers!

Doesn't look like my photos were posted, not even links. Is there some trick to posting photos? I remember in the bad old days of this forum that posting pix was a pain.

How about a link to Facebook photo albums? I have enough user names and passwords as it is, but if I have to use Photobucket, etc...

Thanks, Jim

There isn't any site hosting of the photos - you have to upload them to Photobucket (or a similar site), then link them here:
