I'm pretty sure the answer is no. Take a look at a Les Paul Deluxe with mini humbuckers. The pickup ring brings the mini up to P90 size.

I think BadgerDave may have made that conversion at one time and the mounting plate screw holes are still visible after you rout for the P90.

This is correct...they are NOT a drop-in replacement.

Yup. Minihumbuckers are drop-in replacements for soapbar P90's but the reverse is not always true and definitely not in the case of the Eclipse.

P90s if not soapbars are direct replacements for Humbuckers. Mini Humbuckers are somewhat smaller, maybe of soapbar size as suggested.

Then there are dogear soapbars...
