lonote049 Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Here are a bunch of pictures taken at the Bayfront Blues Festival last month in Duluth, MN. My band's name is Cool Disposition and we're about 1/2 way down under the guy in the pale green (James Cotton) and the lady in the black patterned dress (Ruth Brown). I think I had the only Hamer at the festival...at least you can clearly see the headstock in my picture. There are some hilarious "guitar faces" in this batch of pix.http://www.vividpix.com/bayfront05/index.htmIt was quite the experience to look out from the stage and see all those people!
MCChris Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Nice Rudy Sarzo over-the-fretboard maneuver LOL!
Jack C Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Nice Rudy Sarzo over-the-fretboard maneuver LOL!Yeah, but if you're going to do Rudy, do it right and lick the bass neck.
silentman Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Nice Rudy Sarzo over-the-fretboard maneuver LOL! LOL. From that pic, I'd quess he's never heard of Rudy.
lonote049 Posted September 8, 2005 Author Posted September 8, 2005 Nice Rudy Sarzo over-the-fretboard maneuver LOL! LOL. From that pic, I'd quess he's never heard of Rudy. I gave him lessons. LOL
MCChris Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 LOL. From that pic, I'd quess he's never heard of Rudy. Don't judge a book by its cover. Lonote can outshred Billy Sheehan and Stu Hamm any day of the week.
lonote049 Posted September 8, 2005 Author Posted September 8, 2005 Haha...Billy and Sarzo are both about my age. Billy grew up in the town next to the town where I grew up.
silentman Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 I don't doubt the chops. He just dpesn't look like the typical Quiet Riot/Whitesnake/etc... fan. And yes, I'm stereotyping, LOL
lonote049 Posted September 8, 2005 Author Posted September 8, 2005 Well, you should doubt the chops! After all, I'm a blues guy.
serial Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Great pics and great looking crowd! Wow. Any of us should be so fortunate to play for a crowd that size! Thanks for posting those.
Submariner85 Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Looks like it was alot of fun. I especially like the picture of the hippie with pot leaf glasses.
Eric Weston Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 That's a great shot Greg!! I haven't been up there for the Blues fest in a decade or more....gotta fix that next year, lol. Your band is sure putting on the miles!! Marquette, Duluth ect. Makes me feel like a wimp cuz I was just bitching about gigging in Winthrop, Mn. this weekend and its not even 2 hours out,
lonote049 Posted September 9, 2005 Author Posted September 9, 2005 Lotsa miles but lotsa fun, Eric, I'll take that tradeoff anytime! The Bayfront Fest has gotten enormous over the last few years. Thankfully, there are still cheap, available hotel rooms in Superior. The Marquette fest, maybe 10% the size of Bayfront, was more fun.
KorinaHound Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 I'm sorry, but this pic just had me dying... Guy in middle. No Shirt Lady next to him: Didn't notice missing shirt for 3 sets Gal next to her: Just realized her panties were still hanging in the port-a-potty. KorinaHound
