rj2858 Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 I never would have thought a third of USA production was going overseas during that time. Who knew? Oh, you did. I don't know if I could ever buy a guitar from overseas unless it was from a HFCer. I tried to purchase a new guitar through what I thought was a reputable company from the EU, and, after many months of being told the guitar was on order, I have no money and no guitar. And my credit card company told me after 60 days they cannot reverse the charges, no matter the reason. Couldn't of happened to a nicer guy right? I do appreciate the dialogue and the information though. Best regards, Bobby So for you, although it may be spelled "EU", it's pronounced Eeewwwwww!, I guess
The Shark Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Oh, but the new "leader" has zero feedback. I know that doesn't necessarily mean anything nefarious. Just sayin'.
RichRS6 Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Well thats a record price for a Burst (AFAIK).£1730 = $2745 !!!!The winner has Zero feedback though so it could end up back on there next week.Anyone here take it ?
cynic Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 There's about to be a couple dozen late 70's sunbursts on ebay.co.uk, mine included
RichRS6 Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 I still have doubts that the winner is a serious buyer but hey ho.I would have gone up to £1300 ish as thats what I got my 78 for, but these guitars are (usually) seriously undervalued, try getting a 79 Les Paul for that money (in the U.K.)
cynic Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 I share your concerns, but two others were willing to bid £1500 or more. Even if it goes to a second chance offer I think it will sell.
cornjulio Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 There's about to be a couple dozen late 70's sunbursts on ebay.co.uk, mine included well well...let me me know...
cornjulio Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 There's about to be a couple dozen late 70's sunbursts on ebay.co.uk, mine included well well...let me me know... Edited to say I just realised that you're not based in the UK....
cynic Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Edited to say I just realised that you're not based in the UK....I was saying that in response to the winning bid amount. I'm sure many of us in the states would be more than happy/willing to ship ours over for prices like that.
mc2 Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 It might also be a EBAY newbie with the Zero Feedback, thinking he is bidding in U.S. Dollars with the 1300....
The Shark Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 It might also be a EBAY newbie with the Zero Feedback, thinking he is bidding in U.S. Dollars with the 1300....I never bid against "zero feedback" bidders. I was in the top three.
Andrew Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 After the money that this one got, I was expecting several old Hamer Sunbursts and Specials to appear on Ebay UK.I was wrong - not one yet.
RichRS6 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Im still astounded about the price it reached.Doesn't look like anyone on here got it.Lets hope you're right and it spurs others here to dust off their old unwanted Hamers and put them on the market.
