How to set up my pedal board....?

Disturber

I am usually just bringing no pedals, or one or two to rehersals. But as we get more songs I feel I need maybe to get some more sounds.

So I am thinking I should put a pedal board together that works.

Here's what I think I will use (pedal wise), and how I am thinking I should connect them:

-----------------

Ibanez LS10 http://www.effectsda.../ibanez/10/ls10 Two channel switcher, for two pedal loops.

Fulltone Catalyst

Fulltone Fulldrive 1

Demeter Tremolo

Vintage MXR Phase 90 or Vintage Small Stone

DOD Flanger 535

1970's MXR Zipper

Coloursound Wah Wah

Connecting them like this:

Guitar --->wah wah--->Catalyst-->Fulldrive--> LS-10 (channel 1 + channel 2) ---> amp

LS10 channel 1) Tremolo & Flanger

LS10 channel 2) Small Stone & Zipper

-------------------------

Does this seem like the most effective way to do it signal wise? I might not bring the Wah Wah all the time, just occasionally.

Also:

1) What good looper pedals, that are priced reasonably, are out there - if I want to change out my old LS10?

2) What good power supplies, that are priced reasonably, are out there to power these pedals? Need Boss and MXR contacts, 9 V and perhaps 18 V as the DOD runs on 18 V. (I'm on 240 manly European Volts, so pedal should be of a brand that is also sold over here).

Pedal experts, give me you best advice :-)

That looks pretty good-some experimentation with order might go a long way in figuring out what you like best. There's a lot of true bypass loopers out there anymore, Keeley makes some but there are others who's manufacture escape me that are similar and cheaper-even the Boss LS2 works well. I'd go with the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+ for power, you can get a special cable that allows you to use two outlets and run a pedal at 18 volts. Those Colorsound wah's sound great!

For power it looks like Pedal Power PSU is your only option as it does 9v + 18v. They are expensive tho. MXR + Boss use the same input so no problems there. The way to order your pedals are (IMO): Tuner/Wah/Distortion (inc: Overdrive etc) - after this put in your timed effects in the loop (send/return) Flanger/Chorus/Harmoniser etc - then your delay pedal (after the loop). Plenty of videos of this on youtube but most find that this is the standard & best way of doing things.

Bit busy at the mo but when I have more time, I'll go into more detail...

Tonebone Loopbone is the one I use and have really liked it. It has an adjustable boost and can switch amp channels as well. Kinda pricey though......

Delay after the loop? How does one pull that off and why would you not want that in the effects loop at the end?

Yeah I know! That's what I thought til I tried it (both work for me). I actually do have mine back in the loop now...

There's no 'right' way to do it. Shuffle stuff around until YOU like it.

I start with (what I think is) a good foundation tone (for me it's guitar-OD-amp) and then add whatever pedals before or after the OD until it's where I want it.

Not following the 'rules' can make for some great sounds. And some pretty crappy ones as well.

The Pedal Power is a no-brainer. Reliable, worry-free, and will damn near run anything. That and high quality patch cables (don't scrimp here) and you're good to go.

Thanks for the input. I will mess around with it some then. I think it might be wise to have the older pedals in the loop, as they can suck a little tone.

The LS10 has a buffer, perhaps some of the other too. Some are true bypass. I'll mix n match.

The Tonebone looks stellar. A little pricey, I'll give it some thought, but thanks for the advice on that one.

I think Z was asking more about how you do it physically? That's my question at least....I'm scratching my head...after the power amp? Where?

I'd deffo put my non-true bypass pedals in the loop (that's all Boss pedals then)...
