Rick's Picks...worth the trip?

The exhibit is closing in a few weeks and I'm really thinking about going to check it out. Between airfare, lodging and other expenses it's gonna cost me about $900. Cash is a little tight right now, but I think if I pass on it I will regret it later...the regrets will outlast the credit card bill.

So...from those who have seen it...ona sclae of 1 to 10 how does it rate? I'd mostly be interested in the guitars, so I would hope there is a lot of them there. I like CT, but I'm not a superfan if that makes a difference.

Curious to hear you thoughts.

Thanks!

Oh yeah, I remember 0004. Two maintenance guys were working on the case for this. It was getting pretty hot from the lights, and warned them they shouldn't let it get that hot in there. Knowing at about 140 degrees you'll have a kit guitar! I was curious on the serial, so they pulled it down and showed me the guitar. It's actually stamped/embossed into the wood, which I didn't expect. unlike the ink stamped #'s. Some very very cool stuff there.

That's the way all the four digits are isn't it? Both of mine are stamped.

Yes - the 4-digits are stamped/impressed into the wood, not inked.

Oops. Thanks for the heads up. It's public now.

Hey Ken!

That was excellent! Thanks for sharing your pictures of Rick's Picks. Hopefully you have placed a link on the Cheap Trick and Rick Picks boards as well.

Best wishes,

went on sun really enjoyed it, for the memorabilia as much as the guitars. I answered a long standing question for a few local guys . we all remembered Fuse ( they had a real hot guitarist ) but no one remembered Rick Nielsen . now we know why he was the organist in the band . the subject came up in a discussion with a friend who had opened for Fuse back in the day at the Kinetic Playground . I saw Fuse at Majestic Hills ski lodge in Lake Geneva Wisc around 1970?
