FB II with boomers (and a broken neck)- price?

Montelovesco

Question

After hunting the 1980 Special I kept digging and that's what popped up. SInce I don't know much about the model I quote more or less the sellers description (which is poor, as you will see):

"Firebird II, rare, 750€. Only 100 - 200 were made. Trem was changed to fix bridge. OSHC is 100€ plus."

That is the first pic the seller sent me:

But then there is this:

And this:

fb_1.jpg

I do not know what to say... It is a pity. But even I can see that the neck repair was done more than bad...

Anyway, I will pass on this one but if any of you is interested in that guitar I will gladly assist you. Located in Berlin (THAT Berlin, capital, you know...), and sellers states the price is not negotiable.

You find that one here.

@admins: You might want to move this thread into the PSA-section...

"Trem was changed to fixed bridge" and I see dowels on the back of the neck that appear to be leftover from a through-neck Floyd nut removal. I'd be very scared to see the woodwork that was done to convert from a Floyd to a wraptail.

I seem to remember this (or one with similar problems in Europe) being up for sale a while back.

I can only echo others thoughts.

Unless you can pick it up for real cheap (and are prepared to drop a chunk of dosh into it) leave it well alone.

Good spotting though, keep it up.

Edited to add......

Here it is from a while back.

It ended then at 311 Euros (including the case) which is about the right price IMO.

If it was cheap enough then It could have some potential.
