tomteriffic Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I have one. the previous owner kept it in standard and was reported to have gigged it pretty regularly. I also keep it in standard and it goes to a couple of gigs a month. No tuning problems, no neck stability issues whatsoever. I usually pull it out of its case at the gig and it's damn near perfectly in tune. Which is good since I hate tuning 12's.
JohnnyB Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I owned one as well. I always kept it to standard tuning and never had any kind of intonation problems whatsoever. Hamer's 3-piece reverse-grain neck design works!P.S.: I miss my Eclipse-12.
RobB Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 '95 E12 owner here. It's always kept in A=440, never a problem. The neck on mine is pretty substantial, though.

Electric. EVAH!Yes! It's the one 12-string you can take for granted. Not fussy. Stable. Fun to play. Jangles with the best of 'em.
Jem Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I've got a '91 Chap 12 string that's been in standard tuning for as long as i've had it (10 years or so) and i've never had any problems.

With a compressor and an EL84 amp there are so many classic sounds to be had. The neck is big, but the action is so low it doesn't really matter.
LostArt Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I have a newport 12 and keep it in standard (nightwolf's old guitar)

cmatthes Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 There is no reason to worry about any of these Hamer 12 strings.
L Nutter Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 Excellent - thanks for all the information. Standard tuning it is!L
