Small multi-effect - any recommendations?

Montelovesco

I got this little Vox AC4 I use in my office (for the little moments) and for jamming. It has an okay clean tone, gain is abit sharp. It will never be my main amp, buthe is good for the casual session. Got no effects other than gain on board. Now I am looking for a small multi-effect. It needs to do some crunch, reverb and tremolo. Digital is ok.

So any recommendations? I thought about the Zoom MS 50...?

The Boss GT- series have a ton of stuff in them. A GT-3 can be had for around $100.

You'll certainly get a variety of answers. I had a Zoom G5 and loved it (easy to use, good sounds), so I think you may want to check out a G3 or the like.

It seems to me that all the modern stuff has ended up sounding really good, so it will really just come down to your preferences. You can get a lot of good stuff for not much money.

My standard recommendation is to take your main guitar and whatever amp you're going to use and let your own hands and ears and workflow preferences decide. Be sure to check out Line 6, DigiTech, Boss and Zoom.

A little off topic, but the Yamaha THR 10C is a great little package, I borrowed my friends and can't stop playing it, amp models feel really good, and some of the built in effects actually sound very nice ( the delay is a "tape delay" simulation ) they usually sound horribly cheesy on these little amps, and a touch of reverb is about all that's useable. I'm pretty sure I'll be buying one of these in the near future.

I gigged for a few years with a Boss ME-70 and it did the job very well for my ears, and the learning curve was pretty simple. Considering the Boss ME-80 is out now, I'd suspect the 70 is quite affordable on the used market, maybe even NOS if you dig around. A quick Google search just showed four used 70s at GC, all for under $200.

You should be able to pick up any of the older Line 6, DigiTech, Boss and Zoom pedals cheap. I have a old Line 6 pod but that is just collecting dust now my SCXD covers most of what I want now.
