Hamer pickup switches -- are they available?

What brand are the usual 3-way switches on USA Hamers? Switchcraft? Hamer itself?

Are they possible to buy separately somewhere? If not, which ones are most similar to the originals?

Thanks!

If you mean the long style switches they used on the Standards I think they're the same as Rickenbacker used.

Check ebay thats where I got mine from.

what kind of wrench do they use? They don't seen to be the standard knurled size. They also have a slot on them.

I keep meaning to buy a few to return my hamers to "factory correct" standards.

You can also order some from Rickenbacker direct.

Sorry for the thread from the dead, but the switch on my studio seems to be dying, so "i'll get around to it" has become "better find one of these soon." Since I'm getting one, I figured I might as well get 3 (one for the studio, one for the newport, and one for the special). Has anyone found a cheaper source, or will I just need to pony up $25 each?

Finally ordered the switches. The pickup switch on my newport is wonky now, and it's not original, so this will give me the chance to go back to the correct switch.

Or may someone else to do it or something. No idea how I'm going to tighten the switch. I'll probably just pay someone else to do it.

There's this:Adjustable Toggle Switch Wrench but at $18 bucks, it might be better to find someone with one. Personally, I (carefully!) use a set of channel locks with a T-shirt over the bezel (and guitar face). Works fine for me.

Stewmac used to sell a cheaper plastic version of that wrench. I can attest it did not work for me - slipped on the bezel and did not tighten it up enough.

yeah, I have seen those. The bigger issue is on a newport, how the heck am I going to put any pressure on the other side to hold it in place? no control cavity. minimal access. I've never found that anything more than a nice rubber mat is necessary. With "tools" like that you run a risk of splitting the wood on top.

Ok, got the switches, only downside is that these long ones come with the flat knurled nut. For hamers I'll need to get some of the recessed knurled nuts from stewmac.

Also, question: the hamers I have seem to have two cutout portions in the recessed nut. was that so they could be easily tightened using some kind of tool?
