Mirage 1 fan here. Koa, prefer the pickup setup and the "blower switch". Never should have let mine go.

I switched the rings and knobs on my Mirage II from creme/amber to black. I feel that brought out the darker hues in the burst.

I'm going a whole other route- chrome rings with chrome knobs and chrome switch tip, and semi-open chrome covers. Black is too harsh, and the creme too soft IMO.

The chrome will dance with that trem nicely and give that nice top some extra sparkle.

chrome against a nickel trem and nickel tuners? OH THE HUMANITY! Actually, that was my biggest beef with the cream, that it wasn't exactly the same shade of cream as in the pickup bobbins. Neither is the black, really - but since it is black you don't notice from more than a few inches away.

I have a red one and the flame on mine is very very subtle. I went with black. GLWS.

And Chris, that is the best top I've seen on a Mirage 2. Gorgeous guitar.
