marcnorth Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 The link just leads to photobucket sign in page and not to pics.
cynic Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 I'm sure he's emailing pics to those making offers through PM Without more information it's impossible to attach a value. The difference between a '76 and '86 would be thousands, and the scale slides pretty drastically even between a 79 and 80. Did it make it through the 80's without a trem mod? Dot-necks get little love compared to trap inlays (this boggles my mind)
eboquist Posted August 17, 2015 Author Posted August 17, 2015 I've tried to post pictures here but files are too big to upload, if anyone has a solution I'd be grateful. I thought the photo bucket link would work, but apparently not. happy to email pics to anyone who wants to see them.
Bobby Marshall Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 Need pics of headstock front and back, neck front and back, where neck joins body front and back, body shot front and back, strap buttons, jack, and "extra" holes. Description of repairs and/or modifications. Also pics of the underside of pickups and back with covers removed. Then you can receive informed advice.
eboquist Posted August 17, 2015 Author Posted August 17, 2015 In the interest of full disclosure this guitar has a story. The previous owner had modified it pretty extensively. He replaced the pick ups with one dimarzio and one seymour duncan, he also had a trem bridge installed. About 5 years ago I took it to 3rd coast guitars here in Chicago with the idea of getting it as close to what it was before these modifications were done. They did a phenomenal job on the body, refinished it and installed Lindy Frailin PAFs, and rewired it to the tune of $1000. So no , it's not original, and I recognize that will hurt it's value but it IS an amazing guitar.
cmatthes Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 What's the serial number? It could still be in the $3k - $3.5k range, depending on how things look up close and with original case. The non-originality will hurt, but it's still a desirable guitar. If original, it would have likely been in the $5k+ range.
eboquist Posted August 17, 2015 Author Posted August 17, 2015 Serial number is 239, I bought a new Hamer case for it when I had the work done,
Jason01 Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 They did a great job on the refin, I would have guessed factory finish from that pic.
tbonesullivan Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 Yeah the requisite Three Fiddy, with an extra zero. That seems about right. Very nice guitar, very desirable, even with the mod and restore. It's a FOUR DIGIT. NO more need be said.
