Getting audio off off youtube videos

There are many one off performances on YouTube that I would like to get just the audio into a mp3 format. Does any one have a method that will not corrupt my computer in the process?

There are all sorts of website you can use. Here's one I use: http://www.youtube-mp3.org/

If you're talking for us with a phone, I use Tubemate with my Android phone along with Star Music Tag Editor to edit the tags on my phone. I'm sure there are many equivalent apps for iOS devices.

Also, obviously the source video quality will determine the quality of the audio. If it's not HQ, it's going to have that annoying "sea wave" mp3 thing going on in the highs.

I do it in the most "old school" way possible. I use an 1/8" stereo patch cord from my computer headphone output plugged directly into the stereo microphone input (I actually use a "Y" cord so I can monitor on headphones)

Won't corrupt your computer in any way.

Hey, gimme a break...I'm 60...I even bypass the microphones and preamps in my Zoom digital recorder and use vacuum tube mics and preamps.

I use "YouTube to MP3" vendor is Mediahuman.com

As has been said start with the best quality Video you can find. Some obscure stuff, ya gotta take what ya get.

Very easy to use I just did it the other night for a VERY rare LP and never released to CD local area band that someone put the full album up on You Tube.
