Pickup selection.

So I've decided, finally, to replace the stock Dragon II pickups in my CE 22. They're too harsh and seem to lack depth to me. I play blues, think Gary Moore/Joe Bonamassa not BB or Stevie, and classic/southern rock. I've started researching different combinations. Duncan Pearly Gates, Rio Grande Texas and BBQ are a couple that look and sound promising. Anyone done a similar transplant? What did you choose and why?

I was not impressed with Dragon IIs......I like the PRS combo of 57/08 neck and 59/09 bridge but they get pricey quickly. Also had good luck with the Wolfetone Dr Vintage....Call them (or other "boutique" winders) and they should be able to "dial in" whatever you tell them.

BUT, all that said, why not do the same right here with Schlabotniks? Nothing but praise from folks here. Paging Hertzsogud!

the Duncan Pearly gates are well regarded. So are the Dimarzio 36th anniversary PAFs. You've got a lot of choices out there. Also there are the Alnico Pro II's from Duncan.
