That's not true at all, despite what hype may be out there - that had nothing to do with Motley Crue. Sixx hasn't touched a Hamer in decades, most likely. ANYBODY could have ordered a FB Bass or Guitar during the last few years of Hamer. I spoke with Frank U. about it, and priced one up from Elduave at Rocketeria shortly after he ordered at least one other one for a customer...LONG before that red one was ordered. You'd be surprised what you could have ordered the last few years before the shop stopped taking custom orders...I saw the printed option list.

Ad doesn't say ANYTHING about the bass being made for Nikki Sixx. The bass was, in fact, done for a person closely connected to Nikki and the tumbling boomers done as a special favor by Hamer for him because of that. The ONLY Hamer bass to ever get them. The bass was delivered. I just happen to have it because the original owner is a friend of mine with whom I have exchanged (sold, loaned, bought back, etc.) a half dozen rare Hamer basses with over the last several years. He had a situation come up and I ended up with the bass.

True....but I believe Frank U. threw these in for free as a favor for the guy because of his Nikki connection. One of the Hamers I shipped to this guy (an FBIV) vanished for around 10 days and then magically reappeared on his porch. It was some sort of inside/employee theft that the thief had second thoughts on because we made the bass so hot he couldn't move it. The guy told me it has been an ongoing problem ever since his UPS delivery guys met Nikki at his house, sitting on his porch....a number of subsequent deliveries of music gear there have disappeared.
