Bennyboy-UK Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 I’m right in thinking these had triangular mounting feet rather than rectangular ones? and the crossover year was about 1989-1990? B
Disturber Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 They have triangular feet. Never seen anything else. I think Hamer switched to Duncans around 1990-91.
bubs_42 Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Correct sir. The Slammer was hotter than the paf, then eventually turned into 16K'ish. The 10K'ish Slammers sound very close to the Dimarzio Transition Humbucker.
Bennyboy-UK Posted October 2, 2018 Author Posted October 2, 2018 Awesome - I was hoping this was the case - I've guitar on the way that I believe as misidentified pickups and hoping that the triangular feet indicate Slammers - which are favourites of mine! Quote
FGJ Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 Yeah, I've considered trying different pups in my Cali, but the Dimarzio Slammers sound so good, I just don't see a point in doing so. Here are pics someone posted from an older thread... Here's the link to the older thread:
DBraz Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 I too love the Slammers. Second only to the JBJ’s as far as I am concerned in a Hamer super strat.
cmatthes Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 I still have that pickup...and the mahogany CNC form/template body for the Artist Ultimate in my parts stash. I ended up going with a Gravelin in the bridge position of my Doubleneck Cali instead of that one (and its twin).
