rwe333 Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Have a Hamer Special FM I'm selling. Incredible guitar. As you likely know, this is a solid take on the Les Paul Special type design with a flame maple cap, rosewood 'board, mahogany neck/body, Gibson scale length, Gibson case, Seymour Duncan JB in bridge, '59 in neck. Ten or so years old.Guitar is green and in very good condition. Case solid, but worn,Here's some general info: http://www.hamerfanclub.com/andrewlarge/specials.htmPRICE REDUCED: $700/shipped... rwe333 at yahoo.caPics of guitar/case here:http://ca.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/rwe333/al...m/ph//my_photos

rwe333 Posted February 23, 2006 Author Posted February 23, 2006 Its not easy being green... THANKS!(yup, I'm a newbie here)
tomteriffic Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Gratuitous bump for a cool guitar. Not may green ones out there. When I bought my Special FM brand new, a green one crossed my path almost immediately afterward and I wasn't in a position to move on it. Now, here comes only the second green one I've seen and I'm in the same situation. Somebody grab this so I can get it from you later!
hardheartedbill Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 zero worries w/ this newby, he's the famous Wayne Eagles and is a stand up guy and KILLER guitarist!
David B Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Green is my favorite color. I've seen a few like l this & always want them.
rwe333 Posted February 24, 2006 Author Posted February 24, 2006 Hey HHB - thanks for the kind words, mate. I really want to hold on to the guitar, but timing just isn't right. Appreciate you guys checking it out.
chunst Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 I love it! Please tell me you're in Vancouver. I'll take the fuckin skytrain over and pick it up this after-lunch. Gimmie a call 778-858-5939 Can I buy it??
tomteriffic Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 zero worries w/ this newby, he's the famous Wayne Eagles and is a stand up guy and KILLER guitarist! Wayne Eagles? I thought that was a private furry animal club in Huber Heights?!?! I've played there! Sorry, that's a little Dayton humour for HHB and me. No offense to the guitar or its owner intended.
Guest galejt Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 I Googled the young man and found really nice Miles Davis cover on his site.Like to know how he gets that tone I would.
Jeff R Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Listening right now...this is bad ass sounding!
rwe333 Posted February 25, 2006 Author Posted February 25, 2006 Thanks for the great welcome, guys. chunst - I'll give ya a call. As for the pseudo-Miles clip, that was w/ a jam band I gig with on rare occasion, probably from a coupla years back. Don't remember exactly, but hazard to guess the rig was a G&L Legacy into a Hiwatt or Matamp with a delay/looper.
rwe333 Posted February 25, 2006 Author Posted February 25, 2006 Price drop to $700USD/shipped in North America.
rwe333 Posted February 26, 2006 Author Posted February 26, 2006 Regrettably, now on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=7393844327
rwe333 Posted February 28, 2006 Author Posted February 28, 2006 Just dropped my eBay BIN price to $650 + shipping (basically, $700/total) , but I'd rather not just sell to anyone - rather it goes to someone who 'gets it', ya know? So, w/ that in mind, I'll go $650 w/ shipping included to a HFC cat. I should also note that the side of the neck/fretboard does show some 'Hameritus', but it's purely cosmetic and doesn't affect playability/feel. Cheers!rwe333 at yahoo.ca
holLoWskull Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Damn, someone buy this guitar! That is a great price for a RARE finish on these guitars. I own a purple one and am in sell mode to pay for a Hamer I just purchased or I'd consider buying this one. Special FM's are fantastic guitars! They may not be the sexiest guitar style Hamer ever built, but they sure to sound great.
DCWalters Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 I think that was what I offered for the guitar here on the forum but was turned down! I bought another guitar already so I am out.
BadgerDave Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 I am in hardcore sell/thin the herd mode or I would have bought this one at the old price.SOMEBODY BUY IT AND REMOVE THE TEMPTATION!NOW, DAMMIT!
rwe333 Posted March 1, 2006 Author Posted March 1, 2006 I think that was what I offered for the guitar here on the forum but was turned down! I bought another guitar already so I am out. No offence intended - wasn't in a position to drop the price when we chatted (the 24th). Now a few other things have sold, so I can be more flexible. You also mentioned then to get in touch in a week or so if it didn't sell - hasn't been that long yet...
DCWalters Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 When I get into guitar buying mode, if one deal doesn't happen there are always several more on the burner.
rwe333 Posted March 2, 2006 Author Posted March 2, 2006 Added a few pics here: http://ca.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/rwe333/al...m/ph//my_photos
Jeff R Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 I've had one Studio Custom and three Special FMs. They are too close to call tonally to my ear, both sound very LP'ish. If anything the SCs may be a little brighter in tone but I could just be nitpicking.I prefer the FMs because the flattop and rounded body edge is more comfy to me than the archtop and the bound (sharper under the arm) edge. They're cheaper too.
