m chops Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 I hate to do this, but I’ve got something coming in, and I have to sell something, both to promote the domestic tranquility, and to raise some funds. This is a Warmoth partscaster, conceived and constructed by Badger Dave. The body is chambered mahogany with a quilted maple top. The neck is heavily flamed maple with matching headstock. The fingerboard is ebony with abalone dots, and uses Warmoth’s compound radius, which is very comfortable. If I recall correctly, the frets are stainless jumbos and show no wear. The pickups are a Rio Muy Grande in the bridge position, and a Bill Lawrence 280 in the neck position. With the five position switch, there are the traditional 3 configurations, plus with the neck and bridge together to form a big humbucker, and the last is the bridge with a mid boost. The tone control has a pull switch, which seems not to do anything. This pic was taken by Badger Dave. The neck p/u has been changed. This one is a more current pic, with the Lawrence p/u. There is a copper static shield under the pearloid pick guard. The bridge has Graphtech saddles. The tuners are Gotoh lockers that seem to work well. (But I still like Sperzels better!) The body is in excellent condition. There is a chip in the finish, about the size of a match head, as the top rounds to the side about an inch away from the jack. It comes with a deluxe HS case Given the quality components, the guitar was expensive to assemble. I paid almost $1k for it. $750 shipped CONUS. I’ll accept paypal credit card if you cover the fee. email me at bfarah at riverlaw dot com (edited to add brite-boy's email addy! )
tomteriffic Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Just in time for St. Paddy's Day!Man, what a beaut, I wish I could snap it up.
BadgerDave Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 The guys at Warmoth took the time to select the "greenest" greeen abalone dots to match the headstock on that one. The push/pull on the tone control selects between two slightly different tone tapers -it's a Torres Engineering design.
sirDaniel Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 I played that one. It kills! All hi quality parts. fassssssst action.
DavidE Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 I played that one. It kills! All hi quality parts. fassssssst action. Here's something I never understood....How can "action" be "fast"?It's either high or low, but there's no speed in it.
blackfbiv Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Gosh, that's beautiful... I remember this one from years back.. I still have a copy of the original badgerdave picture on the HDD at home.I don't know why but I have a soft spot for Telecasters of all kinds...Wish I could help you out with this one...Dion
m chops Posted March 15, 2006 Author Posted March 15, 2006 Wish I could help you out with this one...Dion Well, you can. Didn't you say: Anyways, we've decided that (without going completely nuts) we're gonna buy what we want, when we want it, if we really want to buy it. I think you really want it!!!!!

I have the 5 position on my guitar from BD. It offers 2 more very nice options. Lemme tell y'all, I had to find a "fender" tele for my friends kid. Bone stock USA fenders are going for 6-7 bills. This one will MURDER those.
Zipper Neck Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Oh man.... I just shelled out 1300 for a Monaco Elite. If I had the extra swag I'd bag that baby up so fast.
cloakerz Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 OOh yeah..........one green tele soon to be mine!
