Ham Rex Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 No affiliation. Looks really sweet! For sale is a 1997 Hamer USA Cruise bass with a 2Tek bridge. There are no dents or dings of any kind, and just normal signs of play wear on the surface of the finish. With OHSC. 1250 +60 https://reverb.com/item/41106980-hamer-usa-cruise-bass-2tek
topekatj Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 Fug, gimme... Gorgeous, I don't believe the EMGs to be stock. And a pound less heavy would be nice. I loved that finish on the Daytonas of the same era -- Try finding one now (*with a RW fingerboard).

stobro Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 My '96 came with these pickups, whatever they are:

It appears that the EMG-JVs in this bass are stock... Hamer had a short run (Hamer Model BCRTA – “Cruise Custom”) of 2nd gen 2tek CBs (look at the stacked Bass/Treble control (EMG BTC)). LOVED the control and improvement in sound versus the passive SD's... the EMG pickups/electronics give this bass a more pronounced low to low-mid presence, basically fatting up the sound, while slightly taming the high-mids commonly associated with the passive SD’s… pickups/electronics provide much more definition, thump and low-mid punch in concert with the 2tek bridge.
Ham Rex Posted August 21, 2021 Author Posted August 21, 2021 Here are the 95 Cruise Bass pages from the brochure. Also a pic of my 96 5 2TEK factory Basslines.
Jakeboy Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 OMG. Those brochure pages make me so happy I found my candy blue 2-Tek a few years ago. What a bass! While I loved the SD pickups, I was gifted a Gravelin jazz neck pickup so I had JG wind me it’s matching partner. While I am not really a bassist, I cannot imagine a better bass.

From the Hamer 1997 retail price guide... shows the Cruise Custom (Active Emg pickups with EMG BTC) option... owned 16 2nd gen 2tek cbs, 3 were cruise customs with the EMG active options; will provide factory EMG pictures upon request...
geobluto Posted August 23, 2021 Posted August 23, 2021 Page 8 of the 97 Ultimate Gamer price guide... see bottom of page referencing cruise custom with EMG pups and active harness
Dutchman Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 I've got a Green one I got from @geobluto. I though I was never gonna find a replacement for my Cherryburst 71 P Bass but I have! The EMG's are versatile, the Guitar is fantastic!! Best Bass I've ever played! And I've played some great old Fenders!
