Whatever amp I am playing through seems to sound horrible - but I do continue to blame the amp.

That looks great! I'm a Floyd man & have never tried a Kahler but I'm ruling myself out as I'm in England anyway & import duty just f*cks us right over nowadays (I used to buy all my gear from USA). Explorers are my fav shape (I have a Samick Explorer [Greg Bennett design] with maple top). Just bought it & I love it...

Crate palomino V4 tube amp. Just fizzy, noisy crap. It couldn't go back to GC fast enough.

This IS the worst-sounding amp ever: Luckily I got it as part of a CL package deal that included a 1965 Rickenbacker that had been butchered (since transformed by our own Murkat into something quite awesome), so it was worth the pain inflicted when I tried to use it as an amp. I have been trying to give it away ever since.........but it always returns somehow. You can't imagine how horrible it is, and if you think you can, reach further into the horribility and then add some more.

This, a Roland GA50. It sounded terrible. At least for a kid who was expecting a 100W Marshall, but could only afford a solid state Roland I put a Celestion in it, and bought a BOSS HM2 pedal. I was expecting Eddie Van Halen to come out of the amp. Dissapointed!! Then I switched to bass for a while, until I could afford my first Hamer and a real tube amp.

I have owned both trems and I think the difference can be summed up like this: The Floyd is a hot rod with lots of feel, the Kahler is more of a luxury car - smooth and easy to manage. I like them both for different reasons. The Kahler is probably more "user friendly". I think it would be theoretically easier to "unkahler" vs. "unfloyd"... Honestly, I think it deserves to be kept original....that's just me....

That's some of the best $120 [uS] I ever spent = got it for £80.00 [GBP] on eBay UK recently. I removed the Duncan Designed Chrome p-ups & installed Guitarfetish [GFS] HOT PAF Zebra's...
