I like that new material and I like Todd La Torre. He also fronted Crimson Glory and perfectly replaced Midnight. I'm glad he's singing for Queensryche now. That new stuff sounds like the Queesryche I used to like -and not like the lame Empire and all the well-crafted-but-irrelevant crap that came after. The highly overrated Empire was the beginning of the end. Luckily, it seems nobody wants to hear that pseudo-intellectual and bland BS anymore, so bye, bye, Mr. Tate. It was about time!

Finally, I give a special mention to a female metaller who, in spite of not being exactly a preferred female singer of mine, still fronts one of my preferred metal bands: Angela Gossow (the growler in Arch Enemy)

Well, I'm more into metal than into anything else, but I particularly like funk. Prince to me is a monster musician and I don't care if he got Satch-like chops or not. He's still an awesome guitarist. Perhaps a true a**hole (if all this wasn't actually pre-arranged) but musically the guy absolutely rules.

I think I would have lent my guitar to Prince too... or actually to anyone that would have asked for it. One just develops some trust by default when other musicians hit the same venue than you at the same time. I've already played with someone elses' amps, guitars and basses -waaaay more than once- and some people have also played my instruments live. That adds A LOT to the empathy I feel my side for the owner of that Epi.

I ain't a fan of Epi's, vintage or otherwise, but I know well enough not to pull some mega-prick stunt like that. I don't care who the fuck you are (or are calling yourself this month) that is just plain fucked up. Maybe we don't have the whole story but based on what is known, I'd say that Prince Putrid owes that guy another '61 Epi WITH an autograph and a sincere apology. Me too. Love ya, Kiz, but unless you were kidding, that makes no sense at all. I'm all for Prince buying a '61 Epi to that guy, plus writing a sincere apology letter -f*ck the autograph though.

You're talking about the Starfleet project. It also fell short to my expectations when I listened to it for the first time. You know, EVH and BHM together, that had to be sooo great! But no, it wasn't. I recently undusted my own copy and listened to it once again, because Gorch is a big fan of it and we share several tastes. Well, I didn't hate it this time, but I'm still a bit disappointed about it. So, I would not recommend it to casual May or EVH fans -but just to completists.

No sh*t! Ok, revenge is sweet:Anything KISS. Too many Ace fans around, so I did give KISS a good try. I failed. To me it was soooo boooooring... HAHAHAHAaaaa!!! NOT a big Kiss fan either, at least not of the guitar playing......but they were fun to hear at the roller-rink. The avatar is just some old HFC laughs, Well man, that Alcatrazz album with Yngwie is one of my preferred guitar-oriented albums ever. Talk about different tastes! Back to the main topic now: I don't like Black Label Society... or almost anything that Zakk Wylde does, for that matter. Chop-wise, no doubt the man is amazing. However, I find his stuff pretty lacking of good ideas. Great image, great technique, ballsy playing and all... but his solos and songs usually fall short to my expectations. Sad but true.

I frankly don't give a dime to meet anyone in person, really. For example, I met Jeff Waters (one of my biggest influences/inspirations) and everything went very natural, in spite of the fact I spent my late teens listening to Annihilator almost every day. Brian May however is another story. He's the very reason why I play guitar. I spent hours trying to copy some of his licks when I began. I also listened to Queen quite often. In addition, as a musician May is also in another league than all those metal guitar heros I usually like. I wouldn't know what to say if I ever met the guy in person. Something stupid, maybe, such as "thank you for the music, sir" or "can I take a picture with you?" or "can I shake your hand?" ...or "Holy f*ck! It's Brian F*ckin' May!!!"

That's the idea. There ain't no fanboy around here after all. LOL

Love many guitar players, but I think I would be starstruck just by one player in the world: Brian May! Well, a second candidate who might also get me in that "fascinated-by" status is Kai Hansen, if I ever meet him in person. It's worth mentioning I'm a very cocky and proud person, but I used to spend hours with my brother listening to the two guys above when we were teens. Nostalgia takes over pride. Those were definitively good times! Your turn now!

BTW, here's a video of her I particularly like: She shreds with soul. She's got a well-developed finger vibrato and a lot of expression, feel and attitude. I really admire the way she plays.

She got balls, huh? PS: She has been already praised around here. I personally do like the way she plays. And she's quite cute too, but that's another story.
