My guess would probably be that the shipper laid the box face down and put something really heavy on top of it -- and the indestructo-packaging was the only thing that saved it from complete oblivion.
I like to think I've entered the "no new guitars" phase of my life, but then I saw that Triple Threat, and... yeah...
Glad it's going to a HFC'er ! Congrats!
Oh, the Dirty Harry wasn't bad. It's just HOT, and I wanted to try something else in it. It's staying with the guitar, will go with it if I ever sell it.
The Gravelin I've got in it is g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s. Absolutely the right decision for me.
One more e-type. I’ve pulled out the Dirty Harry pickup and put a glorious Gravelin in mine. LOVE the neck on this!
(Please excuse the crappy pic -- but you get the idea!)
I really hope this happens. If this ends up being set-neck / sustain-block / talledega or double-cut shape, I'd do my best to find a way to be in. Seriously, how cool would it be to have a "working man's" version of a Tally? A tally in the spirit of an early 80's special? Or a "re-issue" of an early 80's special? How awesome would that be?! Perhaps another way to keep costs down would be for us purchase our own pickups for this project and provide them for the build?
