I can put up with about 2 of his songs per year.... honestly his music bores the s#!t out of me..... Don't hate him ... don't like him.... his music is beige to me...

I remember those.... funky as hell..... not in a bad way though.... clean it up and flip it....

Stared off with: Steve Morse... The Introduction did it for me... Cruise Missle... DAMN! Tommy Bolin...... Poast Toastee blew my mind Alex Lifeson... all the wonderful chords he plays since then I dig so many players it's hard to list.... but now I'm more interested in song writing, how parts fit together.... and playing the "perfect" part to fit the song... some of these masters in my mind: George Harrison Joe Walsh Steve Lukather Larry Carlton (70's Steely Dan era) The Deleo Brothers (STP)

When I am going through this... I just take the time to write and hit the woodshed.... I find it's harder to write when in a band ... so this get's my "portfolio" updated and expanded.... Hang in there....

Yes... it would alter your tone.... However the Blue Tube is a fantastic booster for a tube front end....

Taylors: 310-CE and 312-CE Nice but didn't sound $700 better than the Ovation IMO... and the Ovation also played closer to what I need.... I REEEEEELLLLLYYY Liked the Taylor 710-CE and the 514-CE 's but I couldn't justify the $2500 price tag.... and Jim... I was "shocked" at how much I liked the Ovation..... and for the price Helava value... and I didn't even plug it in.... I was VERY sceptical about it.... Good suggestion JohnnyB... I really wanted to like the Breedlove Atlas... had all the right stuff on paper.. but didn't feel right in my hands... played well and sounded very good for the money... you might check one of these as well....

I actually did try Tak's and they played to "acoustic" for what I'm looking for... As far as Ovations... I did try a few... one being a top of the line Legend... this goofy black one sounded worlds better... whatever they did they hit "magic" with this one... I've tried Ovation before and was not too impressed... this is the only one I've liked.... and it was loads easier to play... which is 90% of why I'm even looking.... granted it didn't sound close to as good as the Taylor... But the Taylor was WAY out of my price range..... So I think this may be my "happy medium"... But untill I have the dough I'll keep trying stuff... but as of now the Ovation wins for what I need....

Played a BUNCH of boxes today... All were priced between $750 and $1500 In a nutshell: (and to be fair I played at least 2 of the same model each brand) Tacoma ... No.. Fealt cheap and sounded cheap New Guild.... No.. not my vibe.. but sounded nice Martin.... No... fought the things... nice sound though Washburn... No.. been there done that... Breedlove Atlas series... Wanted to like this but didn't... Taylor ... played a few... nice but out of the price range for the model I reall liked... That Damn Black Ovation that I didn't want to like ..... Likely my next Acoustic....

Sounds cool..... let me see if that is do-able.... might need to stick closer to the south side of the Sound.... oh and A# is also a good one to hit as well ..... Hmmmmmm I'm supposed to hook up with Jim for lunch over the weekend maybe I can drag him out as well.... Hmmmm it IS about time for a Guitar-Geek Saturday...
