  1. Hamer has a thicker body than the gibs*n V? And Korina is expensie and hard to find in nice big pieces right? And yet the Gibs*n cost more than twice as much. Go figure I think I smell a rat. This is why I love Hamer so much. They truly make the best instruments out there.
  2. I woulda loved to see a double feature like this. Old man Petty and the now also old Crows. Cool. I saw a guy named Rodney Crowell from Nashville live this weekend. Great band, great songs. He used to write a lot of songs for Emmy Lou Harris. I also saw Nine Inch Nails for the first time this weekend. They where really great. Last weekend I saw Billy Idol at the Donington Festival. He still rules. Summertime is a good season for good concerts!
  3. 1979, 1980 or so: Built in 1978, left the factory in January 1979:
  4. Any Hamer with a JB in the bridge I would probably switch it right away. Any old Hamer I would lay hands on that for some reason has swapped pickups I would go a long way to find original Dimarzio´s to put back in. Other than that most Hamer's are fine with the pickups they have.
  5. This sounds like an interesting litte gizmo. I just picked up an Ibanez pue5 tube three weeks ago at a bargain price. It's a great unit. And silent as it has a built in noisegate. With the tubedrive I get pretty similar tones to what I hear on the soundclips on the fulltone website. Blend in the tubescreamer and it's gets rawer but still vintage. I'm stunned how good this pedal is. The tube gives me all the great overtones an ordinary pedal lacks. Been playing Billy Gibbons riffs all weekend with my 79 Sunburst. disturber
  6. Was out in a cabin in the wild once when I used a can of bug killer spray under my arms. Ouch it hurt, and the smell.... For the record I only shave my pubic hair to a mustach style haircut in the shower. I think that is what Greg is doing as well... disturber
  7. I don't get the question? Does people here actually own guitars from other brands New 4 digit Standard is the current no 1. I currently own only Hamer´s, no other electric guitars.
  8. Holy Natas! Schweeeet! Have you contacted Prince about this purple six shooter!
  9. Primal Scream also uses it as a sample on their epic album SCREAMADELICA which got a whole generation of European kids high on E in the early 90's. disturber
  10. I fell in love with the sweet sensation I gave my heart to a simple chord I gave my soul to a new religion Whatever happened to you, rock'nroll? Whatever happened to our rock'n'roll? Whatever happened to my rock'n'roll? Whatever Happened to my Rock n Roll: Intro/Verse/ Chorus: Basically it's A , D, C..... Hammer on a C bass note ( A string ) as you hold the A note to get it sounding a little more like the CD. I think you could get away with a C# instead of a D...whatever you prefer. The two parts in the song that differ are G and C D and C Thats pretty much it....turn the tone down, grab a clean sound and play with heaps of overdrive and a little contour.
  11. Not only did the Ramones quit. Three of them did it on a permanent basis, so to speak. And they where a cool band with great songs, at least their first albums on Sire. I like a lot of music but I just don't like Status Que. No need for anyone to take that personally. disturber
  12. "I had no idea that these guys never stopped playing, and they seem to have consistently put out albums since the late 60's. " I have, believe me, lol. I always thought Status Qou where a band that wrote the same song over and over again. And on top of that they never have the decency to quit. (They are worse than Deep Purple in that case). For christ sake they have never even written one song that is good. But then again I really hate pub rock. What the f--k is that really all about? Have you been to an English pub? Everyone is drunk. All interior is the same in every place, brown dirty and ugly with a yellow coat of cigarette smoke. They serve the beer luke warm and they fill the glasses above the rim so you always get your hand wet from beer when you try to drink. Then some loony tries to have a conversation with you and you can´t hear a bloody word he is saying because he is sluddering so much  The worst Status Quo song ever is their cover of "In the army now". Everytime I hear I'm looking for the nearest exit to get out of the room. But this is just my (sarcastic) opinion. Don't take offence
